Dapple Grey Press Relaunches as the Independent Home of Accessible Children’s Fiction
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
30th October 2025, Nantwich, UK
This Dyslexia Awareness Month, Dapple Grey Press announces its rebrand and renewed mission to champion dyslexia-friendly and accessible books for every reader.

Independent publisher Dapple Grey Press today announced a major relaunch and new editorial direction, positioning itself as the UK’s up-and-coming, independent alternative to Barrington Stoke following that imprint’s acquisition by a major publishing group.

Under new ownership by Dr. Rae Lawrence, who has acquired all Dapple Grey Press assets and retained the consulting editorial team, the press will now focus exclusively on short, high-quality fiction written for children who read below their chronological age—including those with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences, as well as reluctant readers seeking accessible, engaging stories.

“Our mission is to publish books that fit the reader, not the other way around,” said Dr Rae Lawrence, owner of Dapple Grey Press.

“As the parent of dyslexic/ADHD children, I know first-hand how frustrating it can be to find books that are both readable and age-appropriate. Dapple Grey Press will bridge that gap—offering beautifully written, thoughtfully designed stories that make reading a joy, not a struggle.”

The rebrand arrives during Dyslexia Awareness Month, a fitting moment to spotlight the need for inclusive publishing that supports literacy and confidence in all young readers. Each Dapple Grey Press title is produced with dyslexia-friendly fonts, cream paper, generous spacing, and concise, engaging language, ensuring accessibility without compromise on story quality or emotional depth.

Alongside its new publishing programme, the press is also launching a free online resource hub for parents, carers, and educators. The platform will feature reading tips, practical guidance, and expert articles aimed at helping families support children who find reading difficult.

“There’s a huge community of parents and teachers looking for advice and authentic, supportive materials,” Lawrence added. “We want Dapple Grey Press to be more than a publisher—we want to be a trusted partner in every child’s reading journey.”

The first wave of brand new titles will launch in early 2026, with the resource hub launching in Q4/2025.
